Meet the country that's among the seven richest countries in
the world based on per capita income and standard of living.
Yes, you probably guessed it – this is Kuwait. A place where
gasoline is cheaper than water, loans are interest-free, and the government
covers household expenses, sometimes even forgiving your loans.
Huge oil reserves allow for a truly peaceful life there. A
population of just 4.5 million, only 1 million of which are citizens. This
golden million is used to distribute oil revenues.
✔️For example, at a wedding,
newlyweds receive a gift from the government of $250,000.
✔️The salary of a doctor or
teacher is $15,000, but it's worth noting that local residents do not hold
permanent positions, but rather only hold management positions.
✔️Kuwaiti citizens can buy land
with virtually no money, and mortgages have a zero-interest rate and are often
forgiven after 5-10 years.
✔️Healthcare and education are
free. If you want to study abroad, the government will pay for your
transportation and provide a $2,000 stipend.
✔️If someone accidentally falls ill and cannot be treated in Kuwait, their treatment in any country, as well as their relatives' expenses, are covered.
✔️The country provides $200 per
month in child support, which is paid until the child reaches 26 years of age.
✔️If a woman gets divorced, she
receives $1,400 per month until she finds a job, and the minimum pension is
$3,000.
✔️In 2007, the government
forgave citizens $1 billion in loans.
✔️And sometimes it simply gives
away cash—for example, in honor of the 50th anniversary of independence, all
Kuwaiti citizens received $3,500.
✔️But that's not all. Last year,
everyone could receive free essentials like rice, oil, and chicken.
✔️In Kuwait, there are virtually
no taxes for foreigners. Companies that import into the country pay 4%, which
is almost the minimum tax.
However, these privileges are only available to Kuwaiti
citizens. 70% of the country's population are illegal migrant workers, serving
the country's "golden million." Therefore, obtaining #citizenship
there is also practically impossible.
✔️The cost of living in Kuwait
is much lower than in Qatar and the UAE. And the wages for foreign workers are
much higher.
✔️The state provides loans of up
to $1 million for #homebuilding, which is usually enough for a five-room, fully
furnished home.
✔️But most importantly, when the
price of oil rises on the global market, the Emir of Kuwait forgives all the debts
of the country's residents.
Summers in Kuwait are among the hottest on Earth. How can you
survive 55 degrees Celsius?
This is a true story, but how long will it last?
