Gratitude is a feeling of gratitude to someone for help,
kindness, or service. It is a positive emotion that reflects respect and
recognition for something good, for something received. Gratitude can be
expressed through oral or written expressions, and in the religious context it
is a fundamental virtue associated with gratitude to God for his gifts and
mercy.
What does it mean to be grateful and appreciative? Are you a grateful and appreciative person? And if not, how can you become one?
If a person knows
how to pay attention to people and their good deeds, he takes a step towards
gratitude, and from there to the joy of life.
Therefore,
gratitude is related to the ability to love life and in every situation to take
into account the good, but most of all to see, recognize, and express it.
Gratitude is a
prerequisite for creating lasting connections and relationships, as well as for
increasing self-esteem. Saying “Thank you!” and giving recognition brings joy,
brings happiness.
Here are a few questions that will help you understand if you are such a person, especially if you compare yourself to those around you:
➤Do I easily thank people who have done me a favor?
➤Am I aware of what I receive from others?
➤Do I take the time to express my gratitude to them? Do I tell them that I love, respect and/or appreciate them?
If most of the
answers to these questions are “Yes”, then you are most likely a person who is
grateful and appreciative.
