And that is not connected to the national calendar and related religious holidays. In the Bulgarian folk tradition "Goreshtnitsi" -s are celebrated with rituals. In "Goreshtnitsi" -s people hide from the scorching sun and pray for his mercy. Many years ago, when there were more dependent on nature and its vagaries, it was thought that the celebration of "Goreshtnitsi" defend the house and the levels of fire and hail. Most people strictly followed the first and third day. In these days you do not have to go to the fields to work. Do not interfere and does not bake bread, to prevent large fires and hailstorms. According to legend, not a fire and do not export anything from home. On the third day, however, at a special ceremony by lighting a new fire from which everyone can take and bring back to his house.

 

 

"Goreshtnitsi" -s honor most of blacksmiths, bakers and artisans who work with fire. For three consecutive days, one can only guess what the weather will be in January, February and March next year.
