St. John's - Holidays 

On January 7 (Ivan) Orthodox Church honors John the Baptist, called the Baptist. He predicts the coming of Christ on earth and paving the way for the Messiah to his sermons. People celebrate St. John, and customs associated with purifying power of water.
Ritual bathing for health continues as tradition requires sponsors and brothers to"bathe" with water spraying public couple married a year ago. The young family haswelcomed guests to the best man wine, buns, pastry, wine, pudding and roast pork. In folk Saint John the Baptist is the patron of kumstvoto and pobratimstvoto. Lads  bathethe girls are young men bathed and nameday.

The table must have boiled wheat, beans, dried fruits, pastry, pudding, grilledsausage, pork with cabbage.
