In the Chuprene Reserve

In the Chuprene reserve in Stara Planina, famous for its biodiversity, a rare flower grows. It is called Serbian ramonda (Ramonda serbica) and it is the only plant which has the secret of resurrection! Placed in a suitable environment, after a few years in herbarium, it revives! In 1977 UNESCO included the Chuprene reserve in its registers for protected nature territories. The many caves are also of interest, because they abound in cave formations and traces of prehistoric people and animals. In single areas, unique conditions have been created for the growth and differentiation of endemits - the red rock rose - Sempervivum erythaeum, Canterbury bell, as well as the Bulgarian Erantis which can be seen only in Western part of Stara Planina (and anywhere else in the world). Hedge - 28 September 2016

Hedge

In a recent trip to Scotland, happened to pass along incredible hedges, which are set on the main road. This hedge was entered in the Guinness Book of Records as "the most high hedges in the world" - 30 meters, a length of 530 meters. Hedge consists of an unknown number of trees Beech. According to local sources this hedges trimmed at the top and re-measured every 10 years, this work is carried out by four men for 6 weeks. The trees were planted in 1745 and now officially recognized in the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest hedge in the world.
