Each army has its rituals. In our country during the solemn salutes the drums beat seven time, but few of us know why we do this. What e symbolism in these strikes? Briefly Alexander Joseph von Batenberg/1857-1898 / a Prince of Bulgaria on 17 April 1879 to 26 August 1886. Born in Verona, he was the second son of Alexander von Hessen-Darmstadt, the German prince, from his marriage to Countess Julia von Hauke, who was maid of honor. Their descendants bear family "von Battenberg" in the name of one of the estates in Hesse.
